Joint Local Plan

South Hams District Council, in a joint venture with West Devon Borough Council and Plymouth City Council, are producing a Joint Local Plan.

The regulation 19 version (the last version that can be commented upon) has been consulted up. Any comments made now will go to the inspector who will judge whether the plan is sound or not.

There is more information on the plan on SHDC’s website or on the Dartington NP website

The Parish Council’s response is here:PC JLP reg 19 response

The Parish Council, along with the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, responded to the first consultations on the Local Plan. You can see these responses, along with those from other local groups, on the Dartington Neighbourhood Plan website.

The 1996 Local Plan has some useful policies which are currently “saved” but unless they are incorporated in to the JLP  they will be lost. The JLP probalby won’t make use of the 1996 Local Plan, but might be possible to incorporate some into the Neighbourhood Plan.
