Joint Local Plan

South Hams District Council, in a joint venture with West Devon Borough Council and Plymouth City Council, are producing a Joint Local Plan which has been through the Examination in Public stage – hearings open to the public were held in January, February and March 2018. The inspectors have since issued statements on their findings and the Major Modifications version of the JLP is expected soon. There is more information from the Joint Councils website

You can see the Examination version of the Joint Local Plan here

The Parish Council’s response to the Regulation 19 consultation is here:PC JLP reg 19 response

A summary of the responses to the Reg 19 consultation can be seen here:https://www.plymouth.gov.uk/sites/default/files/Regulation22StatementResponseReport.pdf

The Parish Council, along with the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, responded to the first consultations on the Local Plan. You can see these responses, along with those from other local groups, on the Dartington Neighbourhood Plan website.

The 1996 Local Plan has some useful policies which are currently “saved” but unless they are incorporated in to the JLP  they will be lost. The JLP probalby won’t make use of the 1996 Local Plan, but it might be possible to incorporate some into the Neighbourhood Plan.
